Exposition at the finca, 07.08.2010

Van de Brake likes his peace and quiet and is averse to visits and crowds.
But he understands that the residents of the region are interested in what he does. Sporadically he gives interested parties the opportunity to come and see his work. Volunteers help organizing and entertaining.

Klifhanger Texel 2013, art at location

Once the path to the ancient hidden church was a shady lane, lined with tall elms. The trees became sick and had to be cut down. Colorful trunks now take their place. A unique tribe of the genus Pyrus communis. Originating from the interior of Spain, where they were freed from dead pear trees.

‘Circle of free sitting spirits’ - Klifhanger Texel 2014

in the stable of Novalishoeve, an anthroposophical care farm.

    The trees cut down,
    Their (sitting) spirit freed.
Formed into a circle of rest and peace
    Where thoughts are free.

It's getting more and more colorful at the finca

"El Silencio Habla" (The Silence Speaks)

July 2023 in the local sports hall
organized by Lydia Bermejo Garcia from Aranda de Moncyo, who has been intensively committed to Kika Art

‘Círculo de Kika’ at the CRA Aranda-Isuela, Sept. '23 – June '25

      At the regional primary school.

At the initiative of Kika and headmaster Angelines Aguarón, the regional primary schools paid a ‘working visit’ to the finca in 2012, 2014 and 2016.
A cheerful, creative day full of games, crafts, face painting and refreshments with the regulars as the theme.
In 2018, the Jarque primary school came for one last time.
Van de Brake’s art appears to evoke all kinds of emotions in the children that remain undiscussed in the ‘normal’ school situation.

Thanks to Angelines Aguarón, the project is continued in 2022 at the now merged Collegio Rural Agrupado (CRA) in Gotor… although in a very different form.
With the ‘Círculo de Kika’ this passionate teacher creates in the school an inviting ‘circle’ where feelings, fears and uncertainties can be discussed and where mutual quarrels can be settled. Aspects of education that receive little attention in Spain.
Unfortunately, after her retirement the circle is not continued.
