Kika Artdel Moncayo is committed to the promotion and preservation of the artistic work of the Dutch artist Herman A. van de Brake
Van de Brake paints colorful ‘paintworks’ on panel and makes fascinating, primitive-looking ‘trunks’ and ‘sitting spirits’ from dead trees. His work can be characterized as Art Brut*.
Kika Art del Moncayo is a tribute and lasting memory to his late partner and muse Kika (Henriette Haveman, 1966-2022).
She was and is his great source of inspiration and she started preserving his art.
Kika Art del Moncayo is continuing this.
*Art Brut is art in its most direct and raw form. The artist does what he likes, not asking for for attention or recognition. He usually feels out of place in contemporary society and often struggles with psychological problems.
